The Texas Longhorns opened spring practice today as Steve Sarkisian starts the 2026 cycle that will hopefully end in a college football playoff appearance 9 months from now. All eyes are on Texas football's newest star Auburn transfer wide receiver Cam Coleman.

Coleman is the biggest transfer Steve Sarkisian has landed in his time in Austin. Landing the former Auburn Tiger has been the biggest Longhorns news this offseason. Sark is already raving about Coleman and his early impact with the program.

"When he went into the portal, it was like 'ok, this is probably going to be a priority for a lot of teams in the country.' The biggest thing that came out of it for me is what an awesome individual this is, an awesome kid. He hasn't disappointed since he's arrived." - Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian

Sark says Coleman picked Texas for more than just NIL money, though he has signed a big NIL deal with Crocs since arriving in Austin. But Sarkisian says Coleman picked Texas as his transfer location to work in an offense that will prepare him for the NFL.

"He came here with real intentions and a real reason of understanding that he wants to compete for a National Championship and he wants to put himself in the best position to get ready for the NFL. He came to a pro-style offense for a reason." - Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian

Coleman racked up 97 catches, 1,306 yards and 13 TDs in his two years at Auburn. He is considered one of the best 50/50 ball catchers in the country and has an impressive highlight reel.

With spring practice opening today, we finally get to see the future Longhorns star in action.
