The crown jewel of the Texas Longhorns No. 1 NCAA transfer portal class is wide receiver Cam Coleman. UT landed the former Auburn playmaker over Alabama, Texas Tech and Texas A&M. His new quarterback, Arch Manning, says the two have already formed a bond thanks to Coleman's work ethic.
The former five-star recruit has two more years of eligibility, but will probably enter the NFL draft after the 2026 season. Coleman has been the Tigers primary playmaker for two season with 93 receptions for 1,306 yards, 13 touchdowns and stellar 14 yards per catch. In 2025, Coleman had 56 grabs for 708 yards, five touchdowns and averaged 12.6 yards per catch.
At SEC Media Days, Manning was asked about his impressions of Coleman so far.
It's not surprising Manning is impressed with Coleman's ability at receiver. But it's off the field where Coleman has impressed the QB. The two have already formed a strong relationship based on both players desire to work hard.
That relationship could be key to Texas achieving the lofty goals the team has this season.

"Obviously he's a really good athlete, a freak athlete," Manning said. "But he's also a really good person and a very hard worker. We're excited to have him."
Arch Manning on Cam Coleman:
"Obviously, he's a really good athlete. A freak athlete... The good thing about Cam and how we built our relationship is he always wants to throw... Any time you get a guy like that, it's easier for me to become close with." pic.twitter.com/i5zQr1uxRK

"He's a great teammate," Manning said. "He works really hard. The good thing about Cam and how we built our relationship is he always wants to throw, he always wants to meet extra. And I think anytime you get a guy like that, it's easier for me to become close with. And he's also a good guy. He can joke, and we can go eat. And I'm excited to have him on my team, that's for sure."
