Fiorentina enter the race for Real Madrid breakout midfield prodigy – report


Thiago Pitarch’s future at Real Madrid remains uncertain despite an impressive breakthrough campaign that established him as one of the club’s most promising young talents.


The 18-year-old midfielder emerged as one of the revelations of last season after earning the trust of Alvaro Arbeloa during the second half of the campaign, producing a series of mature performances for the first team.


Although Pitarch did not participate in the World Cup, his summer has been far from quiet.


Instead of enjoying a holiday, he helped Spain win the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, further enhancing his growing reputation with a series of impressive displays.

Interest From Spain and Italy​

Now, according to reports in Italy, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Fiorentina have entered the race to sign Pitarch and are exploring a deal for the Spanish midfielder.

The Viola are hoping to structure any agreement using a model similar to the one Real Madrid employed in Nico Paz’s move to Como.


Under that proposal: Fiorentina would acquire 50 percent of Pitarch’s economic rights, while Real Madrid would retain the remaining 50 percent.


Los Blancos would also secure buy-back clauses, allowing the club to bring the midfielder back if his development continues as expected.


However, they are no longer the only club monitoring his situation. As already reported, newly promoted La Liga side Malaga have shown interest in signing Pitarch.

Increased competition in midfield​

Despite his progress, Pitarch’s pathway into Jose Mourinho’s squad has become more complicated heading into the new season.

The arrival of Bernardo Silva, coupled with Mourinho’s continued push to recruit another central midfielder, and Eduardo Camavinga’s reluctance to leave the club could reduce the youngster’s opportunities for regular first-team football.


As a result, Real Madrid are expected to evaluate the best option for his development ahead of the new season.

A familiar formula​

The possibility of either a loan deal or a transfer with buyback clauses therefore remains on the table.


Such a structure would allow Pitarch to gain valuable first-team experience while ensuring Real Madrid maintain significant control over the future of one of their most highly regarded academy graduates – like they did with Nico Paz.


For now, no decision has been made, but with growing interest from both Spain and Italy, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining where Thiago Pitarch continues his development.
