In the men’s ice hockey semifinal at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Finland and Canada are in a tense, back-and-forth game. Early in the matchup, Finland scored first and held a lead — and then added to it with a short-handed goal. Canada scored one late in the second period to make it 2-1 Finland going into the third.

Despite losing captain Sidney Crosby for the semifinal due to an injury sustained earlier in the tournament, Team Canada has shown resilience and offensive depth — with Connor McDavid stepping up as acting captain.
With under ten minutes to go in the third period, Canada tied the game on a controversial goal, where the Finnish goalie felt he was interfered with. Upon review, it looked like there was no interference, so Finland decided not to take the risk of challenging it.
