Luck can often get a team one miracle bounce of a buzzer-beater and a win but Coach Steve Kerr begs to differ. The Golden State Warriors head coach posits that the hand of fate often plays a bigger role in forming a winning culture. While it is no accident that he won four Larry O'Brien trophies alongside Stephen Curry, the great basketball mind still thinks that right circumstances dictate who gets to be on top.

Kerr outlines what makes Warriors culture special​

To say that the Warriors were loaded and that was the reason why they kept winning is disingenuous. Coach Steve Kerr worked hard to make a winning culture and have it revolve around Stephen Curry for a long time. But, there is some interplay of fate and the head coach acknowledges this. He outlined that getting the players in the right circumstances was their fortune, via Nick Friedell of The Athletic.

"We’re all human. I think for the vast majority of players in this league, circumstances dictate success. Ten percent of the guys in the league would be great no matter where they are. The other 90, they really need to find the right circumstances," Coach Kerr said.

True enough, the Warriors head coach needed very specific roles for his culture to work. Curry had to play alongside great screeners who were guards, amazing shooters despite being big men, and insane runners to keep up their pace. This is where guys like Andrew Bogut, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, and Klay Thompson among others found their 'right circumstance. They were very specific cogs in an amazing schematic masterpiece.

Coach Kerr noted that he learned all of this back when he still bounced around teams in the NBA.

"I experienced this as a player, I think I played on five teams, maybe six — Phoenix, Cleveland, Orlando, Chicago, Portland, San Antonio — six teams. I was only in the rotation consistently with two of those six teams. The other teams, I wasn’t the right fit, or I had better players ahead of me, maybe the style of play," he added.

The Warriors are insanely talented and it's all because of their great culture. The inverse of that statement is also equally true because of fate.
