I had a hunch the IPO was going to go bonkers. I tried to get in on it, but set $32 as my max price, and it came in at $33. No idea whether I would have been awarded shares, or how many, but it hurts to have missed out. Very interested to see how this plays out over the next couple of months. It's been a long time since we had an IPO pop like this.

Yeah I saw that, and it made me even more excited about the launch, before I learned that I'd missed out on it buy a dollar.

I didn't think many brokers allowed their clients to get in on IPOs unless they are accredited investors. Or are you talking about post IPO and the initial listing on secondary markets?

No, the IPO itself. I don't know whether I would have gotten any shares or not, but there was an application process, and I passed the first screen.

This was E*Trade, i.e. Morgan Stanley, and they claim this is something they provide. (I'm in a "preferred" tier, so maybe that matters.) But, since I didn't set my price high enough, I didn't get to find out.
