Caitlin Clark has missed 13 of her 16 attempts from 3-point range this season.

Yet, the Indiana Fever superstar is averaging better than 20 points per game. Her 24 points against the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday night marked her best scoring performance in 11 months.

The 3-pointer is a vital element to Clark's game. Her ability to drain that shot off the catch, of the dribble, from scarcely-believable distances, garnered her national renown at the University of Iowa. In her first WNBA season, Clark shot better than 34 percent from distance on her way to winning Rookie of the Year.

But the league has adjusted to Clark, and now she has to adjust back. Since the start of last season, Clark is shooting just 26.7 percent from three.

To begin a season in which she has missed 17 of 21 jump shots overall, the two-time All-Star is simplifying her approach. Clark has shot 11-of-12 on shot attempts within 10 feet.

Combined with her 100 percent accuracy at the free-throw line, and Clark is finding ways to overcome her spotty jumper, as well as her 11 turnovers in the season's first two games.

That said, the jumper will need to fall at some point for the Fever to remain among the WNBA's elite offenses.
