In a new interview, Caitlin Clark has revealed how LeBron James helped her find her smile again.

Clark's second WNBA season in 2025 didn't quite go according to plan. The Fever superstar dealt with numerous injuries that resulted in Indiana electing to shut her down for the season on Sept. 4, after she had played only 13 games. It meant Clark was to miss the Fever's entire postseason run, which ended in Las Vegas against the eventual champion Aces in the semifinal round.

In a new interview with ESPN's Malika Andrews, Clark revealed that James is one of the few who understands the pressure that comes with being the highest-touted prospect of their generation -- even though their professional careers began two decades apart.

"I think LeBron has been there to support me more than anything," Clark said. "He understands the microscope that I'm under and the spotlight that's on me."

Caitlin on her friendship with LeBron

“I think LeBron has been there to support me more than anything…when I was hurt last year he reached out and was like so there anything I can do to help you…and we text about golf. That’s next on our bucket list to play golf together.” pic.twitter.com/d8izfpWRcd

To that end, Clark said James reached out last season to ask if she needed any support as soft tissue injuries ended up derailing what had been an All Star-caliber season.

Now, Clark says, they talk a lot about golf.

"We text about golf. That’s next on our bucket list, to play golf together," Clark said.

Clark's golfing habit is well-known; she played in the LPGA's The Annika pro-am last year. James too has picked up the sport in recent years, and it's proven infectious to his former NBA teammates.

If and when Clark and James hit the links together, you can be sure all eyes will be on them.
