Fess up - who else had Miami as their 16 pt team...

I picked the texans to cover the 14 point spread in all of the pools I am in...but that is a lot different than saying they will win!! I thought 14 points was alot and that miami was about the most overrated team around - but I also thought the texans were the worst team in the NFL....

I know I picked Miami, but I don't think they were my 16. I think KC was my 16. Doesn't matter though, I stunk it up. At least with this point scoring, rallies are possible.

Yep, the Dolphins were my 16-pointer. I figured the final score would be something like the SF-Chicago massacre. I never thought for a moment Miami wouldn't cover the spread, let alone lose the game.
Wannstedt better go into hiding and get an unlisted number. You think we're upset about the Cards' loss? Guess how Miami fans will react to the Fins--supposed Super Bowl contenders--losing their home opener to a 2nd-year expansion team.

I had Miami as my 12 pointer. I was leery of the 14 point spread, but Miami had looked good in preseason. Both them and the Pats looked like they were in sync. and ready to come out of the gates like gangbusters. I was really surprised by the lack of offense with both those teams.
I also thought the Rams might do better. Warner was atrocious. But I see after the game I heard he played most of it with a concussion.

That game was my 15 pt game, and the Cardinals were my 16 point game. So those killed me. I did ok on the others, I'm in the middle of the pack.

Actually I just checked and Miami as my 11 pt pick, not as bad as I thought, but still pretty bad.

I actually had Miami winning, but with a 1 confidence. The spread was just way too big.
I haven't even checked that page yet, I will have to see how I did overall. I think I missed most of the picks though.

I think I had Miami as my 16 pointer in both my pickem league's. I don't think I could have done any worse if I had thrown darts at the games. One good thing though, It can only get better from here.

I had Houston w/12 confidence points.
Simple rule of thumb for me is anything over 12 on the point spread and I take the underdog.
Funny thing about the NFL due to parity now and days, there aren't alot of blow-outs, and usually a blow out only occures on a game that was not predicted to be a blow out. (see the buffalo/NE game this past weekend)

I did. And, I also accidentally picked Jacksonville instead of Carolina as my 14 point game. I almost got lucky though.
Speaking of luck. I am in a small survivor pool (16 people) and everyone lost the first week, so we start fresh. 15 of us had Miami, and one person had Dallas!!! What was he thinking? I was going to go with Carolina or Atlanta, but I chickened out and went with Miami as a "safe" pick for the first week. Had I not, I'd be 300 bucks richer today.
