After a successful rookie campaign in the WNBA, Angel Reese is officially back for her second year with the Chicago Sky.

On Friday night, Reese and the Sky faced the Brazil national team in their first preseason game of 2025. But they were playing at Pete Maravich Assembly Center, home of the LSU Tigers women's basketball team.

Reese and her new Sky teammate, Hailey Van Lith, both played for LSU under coach Kim Mulkey. Reese helped lead the Tigers to a national championship in 2023, becoming a fan favorite in Baton Rouge.

Ahead of the game, LSU honored both Reese and Van Lith by welcoming them back in front of the home crowd. Standing midcourt to greet both stars was Mulkey, who shared a hug with Reese and gifted her a bouquet of flowers.

The same was done for Van Lith.

WNBA fans appreciated the pregame interaction between Reese and Mulkey, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

"This is dope," one fan said.

"This was so precious," added another.

"Aww this is soo sweet," wrote a third.

"Forever Bayou Barbie," commented a fourth.

"Mulkey is so sweet for honoring HVL as well because she didn’t have to do that," posted a fifth.

"so cute," added a sixth.

Reese and Van Lith spent one year together alongside Mulkey at LSU (2023-24). After winning the national championship one year before, the Tigers failed to get it done in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, falling to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Elite Eight.

Following three preseason games, Reese and the Sky will make their regular season debut on May 17, facing the Indiana Fever on the road.
