Angel Reese's return to Baton Rouge was nothing short of triumphant. In the Chicago Sky's preseason opener against the Brazilian national team at LSU's Pete Maravich Assembly Center, Reese, who led the LSU Tigers women's basketball team to their first National Championship in 2023, delivered a stellar performance.
The 22-year-old sensation finished the night with 15 points and 10 rebounds in just over 16 minutes of play. Her efforts propelled the Sky to a commanding 89-62 victory, marking a memorable homecoming for the former LSU star.
Beyond her on-court excellence, Reese captured hearts with a touching moment postgame.

While engaging with fans courtside, a young girl with a cast on her arm approached and asked for an autograph. Reese, with a warm smile, graciously signed the cast, creating a memorable experience for the young fan.
The heartfelt exchange quickly gained traction online, eliciting a wave of admiration from fans.
"They can never make me hate Angel," another fan said.
"Too cute! The quick tummy tickle for the other little one before she ran off was so auntie coded," a third fan mentioned.
"Angel for president 2040," another fan added.
"Awww that's so cute," another fan said.
"Goddess level awesomeness," a fan posted.
"aw this is so sweet!" exclaimed another.
The Chicago Sky will face the Minnesota Lynx in two upcoming preseason games. They'll then open their regular season on May 17 against the Indiana Fever, featuring a highly anticipated matchup between Reese and fellow standout Caitlin Clark.
Reese's rookie season was historic, as she set the WNBA single-season rebounding record with 446 boards and led the league in offensive rebounds. Despite her season ending prematurely due to a wrist injury, she has returned with renewed vigor, aiming to build upon her impressive debut and lead the Sky to greater heights in her sophomore campaign.
