The leading scorer on basketball teams usually gets most of the glory. They are the stars of the boxscore and usually get interviewed by the media after games. Basketball, however, is a team game and the second- and third-leading scorers often come up with big buckets or passes to help win games.

Fans can vote for the best support player in District 10. Most of the options are limited to the second- or third-leading scorers on top teams in D-10 this season. The poll will run until noon on Thursday:
Ahmari Horton, Cathedral Prep – The Ramblers have a big three to run their offense as all three are in the top 20 scorers in District 10. Nando Mirarchi and Michael Thompson are having big senior years, while Horton, a junior, is scoring 18.1 points per game.
Lainey Font, Eisenhower – The Knights have one of the top scorers in Warren County history with Clara Steinberg and Font adds scoring with 16.1 points per game. Font is also a 1,000-point scorer for Eisenhower.
Luke Young, Saegertown – The Panthers have a top-five scorer in D-10 with Jackson Scott, and Young has been a tough scorer as well. He is adding 17.4 points per game as a senior to give the Panthers several solid options.
Brielle Jordan, Slippery Rock – The Rockets have one of the top players in the south as Madison Romanovich is a 1,000-point scorer headed to California (Pa). Jordan is a perfect complement to Romanovich with 13.5 points per game.
Kymani Vine, Eisenhower – The Knights had a talented team coming back this season, led by 1,000-point scorer Austin Hanson. Freshman Kymani Vine has added to the Knights' firepower this year with 16.6 points per game.
Preslie Kirila, Greenville – The Trojans have one of the top sophomores in D-10 leading the way this season with Ava Cascio. Greenville, however, has another leader with senior Preslie Kirila, who is averaging 13.6 points per game.
Nolan Golub, West Middlesex – The Big Reds have an impressive brother combination with junior Roman Golub and freshman Nolan Golub. Roman Golub leads the way, while Nolan Golub is a solid complement this season.
Haylee Farrell, Seneca – The Bobcats have a balanced offense led by multisport standout Mallory Hammill. Farrell is averaging 12.9 points per game as a junior, not only giving Seneca an impressive option on offense but a tough inside presence as well.
Tykie Butler, Meadville – The senior is scoring 14.8 points per game this season to help lead scorer Amarius Foster, who is having a breakout junior season.
Ivy Riley, Jamestown – The Muskies have a standout 1,000-point scorer in Alayna Cadman and when defenses collapse on her, they can also turn to junior Ivy Riley, who is scoring 12.8 points per game as a junior.
Jayden Stewart, Erie High – The junior is having a big year with 10.4 points per game to help junior Sebastian Wofford, who leads the Royals with 13.2 points per game.
Maya Jeckavitch, Wilmington – The senior has stepped from a player doing the little things not noticed in a boxscore to also becoming a leading scorer for the Greyhounds. She is second on the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game as a solid complement to Reese Bruckner.
Joey Wagner, Harbor Creek – The Huskies have one of the top point guards in D-10 with 1,000-point scorer JT Delsandro. Joey Wagner has provided an inside presence for the Huskies with 12.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
Elle Danilovics, Sharpsville – The Blue Devils have an experienced senior to lead the way in Brooklyn Ramsey and Danilovics is adding 13.4 points per game during a breakout sophomore season.
Simon Gonzalez, Erie First Christian – The Eagles have the leading scorer in D-10 with Avery Collins and what helps Collins get open shots is the threat of Gonzalez. If defenses focus on Collins, Gonzalez can bury 3-pointers and is averaging 18.8 points per game.
