Fans across the NBA collectively held their breath during Game 3 of the Los Angeles Lakers' series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With 1:29 remaining in the second quarter and the Lakers up 55-54, Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and Lakers star LeBron James were chasing after a loose ball. As Edwards bent down to pick it up, James dove for the ball with his right hand to attempt to knock it out of Edwards' reach. In the process, James appeared to land on the left ankle of Edwards who immediately collapsed and grabbed his knee in pain.

Edwards was able to remain in the game and has seemed fine since, but fans are not thrilled with James, with many calling it a dirty play.

"LeBron James is the dirtiest player istg for injuring anthony Edwards," commented another.

"Lebron is such a dirty player Lakers get so bailed out with everything," implored a third.

Edwards made the two free throws right after as the Timberwolves were in the bonus, which by shooting them, allowed him to stay in the game. Had someone else shot the free throws for him, unless it was deemed a flagrant, Edwards would be ineligible to return.

Ultimately, he finished out the half, and thanks to a Julius Randle 24-foot three, the Timberwolves went into halftime with a 61-58 lead. Edwards had 19 points at the half, and is looking to help the Timberwolves extend their series lead to 3-1.

As for the Lakers, they are hoping to tie the series and pick up some momentum before they head back to Los Angeles.
