The Atlanta Falcons have been linked to multiple different names as they continue the search for their next head coach after the firing of Raheem Morris. One of those includes Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, who is expected to interview with the team on Saturday.
Weaver is in the midst of having to handle a potential coaching vacancy as well, with his own team firing head coach Mike McDaniel on Thursday morning. But Weaver could be taking his career to the next level after he was requested to interview for Morris' former spot in Atlanta.
The Falcons will obviously have competition for Weaver, who has also drawn interest from the Arizona Cardinals and the Baltimore Ravens as well.
It will be interesting to see if the Falcons ultimately strike a deal with Weaver, or become a legitimate part of the Jim Harbaugh Sweepstakes in their search. Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak also remains in the mix.
Weaver previously interviewed with the Falcons in 2024, but was not selected for the position. Things could be different this time around.
According to Fowler, Atlanta has also requested an interview with Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for the team's head coaching vacancy.
