Former Florida tight end Kyle Pitts was listed among ESPN's early trade deadline candidates. The Atlanta Falcons placed a $15 million franchise tag on Pitts this offseason, and as a result will be required to play under the designation unless both sides agree on a long-term extension before the July 15 deadline.
Atlanta recently extended wide receiver Drake London and is reportedly in talks with All-Pro running back Bijan Robinson. Should contract talks stall, the ex-Gator will become one of the most intriguing targets on the trade market.
ESPN mentioned the Baltimore Ravens as a potential fit for Pitts due to the offseason departures of Isaiah Likely, who signed a three-year, $40 million contract with the New York Giants, and Charlie Kolar, who signed a three-year, $24.3 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Pitts is coming off a stellar season in which he hauled in 88 receptions for 928 yards and five touchdowns. The 2021 first-round draft pick earned his first All-Pro selection last season. He finished second among all NFL tight ends in both catches and receiving yards.
