Memphis women's basketball will host Alabama and TCU in 2026, according to game contracts obtained by The Commercial Appeal through an open records request.
The Tigers will face the Crimson Tide on Nov. 12 and the Horned Frogs on Dec. 3. Memphis will face both teams on the road during the 2027-28 season.
TCU is coming off a 32-6 season where the Horned Frogs earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and hosted first and second round games and made it to the Elite Eight. Superstar guard Olivia Miles was selected in the WNBA draft but the Horned Frogs reloaded with a strong portal class.
Alabama finished 24-11 and advanced to the Round of 32 last season. Oklahoma assistant Pauline Love was hired after coach Kristy Curry left for USF.
Memphis will also play at Ole Miss in a return game after the Tigers lost in overtime to the Rebels last season. The Tigers will host Middle Tennessee State and Little Rock and will play at Louisiana. Memphis has a game scheduled at some point against South Alabama, but it's unclear in the contract when exactly that game will be played.
The full schedule has not been finalized.
New Tigers coach Hana Haden is hoping to turn around a program that has had very little high-end success over the past few decades. The Tigers have not made the NCAA Tournament since 1998, and coach Alex Simmons was fired after last season. Memphis has only one postseason appearance since the 2016-17 season.
Haden arrived after spending two seasons at Georgia Southern, where she won the Sun Belt Conference regular-season title in 2026. While Memphis has struggled historically, there's plenty of room for improvement.
“I do have an expectation for myself that wherever I go, I’m going to figure out how to win,” Haden told The Commercial Appeal after her team kicked off summer practices. “Whatever the situation is, it’s our job to figure it out. I always say, I try to see around every corner."
