Former Green Bay Packers linebacker Preston Smith listed his house at 974 Magellan Way in Hobart for $639,900.
The five-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom house is on 0.2 acres just south of Thornberry Creek at Oneida golf course and east of Oneida Golf and Country Club. The 3,180-square-foot house was built in 2013. Smith acquired it for $379,000 in 2020.
The house includes a large kitchen, two pantries, dining nook, sitting area with two-way fireplace, vaulted living room and main floor office. The primary bedroom suite has three closets, deep-soaking tub, fireplace and walk-in shower. There is a three-car garage. The property is adjacent to a large backyard pond. Optional clubhouse access with indoor pool and fitness center is available.
An open house is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 14. Laura Rabas of Keller Williams Green Bay is the listing agent.
Smith was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft by Washington. The Packers signed him as a free agent in 2019 at the same time they acquired defensive end Za'Darius Smith. The two are not related, but they were fondly referred to as the Smith Brothers after making immediate positive contributions to the Packers' defense.
During his 5½ years in Green Bay, Smith started 88 of 91 games, recording 44 sacks, placing him sixth among the Packers' all-time sacks leaders. He had 12 sacks in 2019, his first year in Green Bay. He has 70.5 sacks over his 10-year career. He also scored two touchdowns on fumble recoveries while with the Packers.
The Packers traded Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers in November 2024. He played eight games for the Steelers, and recorded two sacks, but was released in February 2025.

It is listed for $1.25 million, down from $1.9 million when first listed two years ago. Green sold an adjacent studio house at 1742 Limestone Trail for $480,000 in July 2023. - 1071 Hill Drive in Hobart, owned by former Packers defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila.
