Former New York Giants offensive coordinator and interim head coach Mike Kafka has reportedly found the next stop in his career.
Kafka is being added to Dan Campbell's staff with the Detroit Lions in what is being called a "high-ranking" offensive role.
Kafka recently interviewed for the Lions' offensive coordinator job, but that role was filled in recent days by Drew Petzing, who was the OC of the Arizona Cardinals over the past three seasons.
Kafka spent four seasons with the Giants, the first three and a half as Brian Daboll's offensive coordinator and the last seven games of the 2025 season as the interim head coach. He went 2-5 in his tenure as head coach.
The Giants decided not to retain Kafka, instead going big by hiring John Harbaugh. Harbaugh is bringing in his own people and is said to be favoring Todd Monken, who was his offensive coordinator in Baltimore.
