The Baltimore Ravens have officially added a proven option to their biggest offensive line competition.
Former Cleveland Browns center Ethan Pocic signed a one-year contract with Baltimore after passing his physical, the team announced, giving the Ravens a veteran candidate to replace Tyler Linderbaum in the middle of the offensive line.
Pocic, 30, has started 97 games during nine NFL seasons with the Browns and Seattle Seahawks. He tore his Achilles tendon during Cleveland’s 2025 season, but he has been medically cleared and is considered healthy entering training camp. That was the most important part of the process for Baltimore, which needed to know whether Pocic could compete immediately after spending much of the offseason with uncertainty at center.
The Ravens lost Linderbaum in free agency after the Pro Bowl center signed a three-year, $81 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. His departure created one of the team’s most significant offseason questions because Baltimore’s offense relies so heavily on communication, timing and physicality up front.
Before adding Pocic, the Ravens were expected to evaluate Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn and Nick Dawkins at center. Pinter brought the most NFL experience of that group, while Gwyn and Dawkins offered developmental upside. Pocic immediately changes the equation.
He gives Baltimore a center who has handled protection calls, identified fronts and played extensive snaps against AFC North defensive linemen. That familiarity should help his transition after spending the past four seasons in Cleveland. The Ravens are not asking him to become another Linderbaum. They need stability, clean communication and dependable snaps in front of Lamar Jackson.
The Achilles recovery remains the biggest question. Centers need lower-body strength, balance and anchor ability to handle powerful interior rushers, and Baltimore will likely monitor Pocic’s workload as camp begins.
Still, the one-year deal limits risk while giving the Ravens a legitimate starting option. Pocic’s arrival does not end the competition, but it gives Baltimore something it lacked.
