The 2025 NFL Draft is almost upon us, meaning the last nuggets of intel will trickle out before the first round kicks off.

For the Los Angeles Rams, it seems as though anything will go with their No. 26 overall pick. Trading up, down or out of the first round has been speculated and predicted, as well as staying put. But ESPN NFL insider Peter Schrager thinks the Rams will ultimately trade entirely out of the first round to pick up more draft capital.

In his first mock draft for ESPN, Schrager wrote that the Rams will trade the No. 26 pick to the New York Giants, who move back into the first round to take Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart (who has also been connected to the Rams). New York gives L.A. the Nos. 34 and 99 picks in exchange for the Rams' No. 26 pick.

"If the draft falls this way, I think the Rams would be OK with this," Schrager wrote. "They don't currently have a second-round pick, but if they agreed to this deal, they'd have four picks on Day 2."

This trade would pick the Rams the Nos. 34 (the second pick of the second round), 90, 99 and 101. That's a lot of draft capital to shore up positions like cornerback, inside linebacker, offensive line and even receiver. The Rams could even grab a quarterback with one of those selections if needed.

And after a ton of players the Rams could like went earlier in Schrager's mock, it makes sense for them to trade back just eight spots to grab another Day 2 pick.
