I don't know if you guys saw it tonight on ESPN, but during the Come On Man segment Berman chose BA's moment on Thursday night when the challenge flag "fell out" of his pocket. He kept calling BA the Coach of the Year. Nice to see this starting to get some visibility. It's hard to imagine a coach doing a better job this year then BA did.

It shouldn't be a contest really. Not Belichick, not Carroll, not Garrett, not Kelly. No coach has had to use duck tape and crazy glue like Arians has had this season and still kept his team competitive. Not only competitive but atop the conference not to mention the first NFC team to clinch a playoff spot. The only way other coaches get votes are from homer journalists.

Arians should get the award hands down but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the media's love for the cowboys vote for Garrett.

For comparison's sake, Urban Meyer didn't win the Big 10 coach of the year despite using 3 QB's and going undefeated in the conference. Instead the 8-4 Jerry Kill of Minnesota won it . On a side note, I couldn't stand Jim Tressel but he completely dominated the Big10 and won a NC yet was never named COY in the conference.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this...

Does our B.A. resemble just a bit (ie; white in his beard) a rather jovial and beloved character we celebrate each Christmas? To me, Christmas came early this year...a Cardinal play-off appearance wrapped up with a nice, big "red" bow.

MARK IN SC :)

Sure in the heck didn't dominate Penn State. Needed the refs on his side to win that one.

All I said was that Meyer went undefeated in the Big 10 while using 3 QB's..

I think that Bruce Arians deserves to win.

But I think that Bill O'Brien deserves some consideration. He currently has 10 players on injured reserve, and is expected to add his second quarterback to that list this week. One of those players on IR is the #1 pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

If the Texans go from 2-15 or whatever they were last year to a 9-7 record (and wildly competitive in most of those losses), Bill O'Brien definitely belongs on the short list.

With all due respect to Jason Garrett, who has done a 'good' job, he lost Tony Romo for part of one game and all of another and lost both games. Dallas would not be competitive if they lost Romo for any amount of time IMO. The Cardinals are competitive and if they beat Seattle Sunday, they can start working on B.A.'s HOF statue immediately.

That "it fell out of my pocket" quip in my opinion completely personifies Arians, and specifically his demeanor in that game.

Arians does not care what everyone else thinks. He is supremely confident - not arrogant - in his experience and ability, the abilities of his staff, his players and the organization. This isn't false bravado. This is "I know what I am doing, I believe in what I am doing, I know what I am doing is right, and will win games, and everyone in this locker room and organization believes and has each other's backs."

Frankly I can't remember another coach in my lifetime who has exhibited this. Bellichick is probably the closest but he isn't as outward about it and tends to alienate players when he disagrees with them.

O'Brien is an outstanding coach & has done a great job! He'll definitely be on the short list. That being said, there's just no possible way BA doesn't win that award. It has to be one of the greatest coaching efforts that I can recall. It's obvious that Bowles's D has been instrumental to our success, but it's the HC that has to keep everyone motivated & playing as one team. If BA doesn't win the award, shame on the NFL.

I saw a comercial the other day with Santa answering questions at a press conference and I swore it was BA under that suit. I think it was an ESPN comercial.
