Could Michigan State star guard Jeremy Fears Jr. jump to the NBA after his recent All-American season? It may be unlikely but not off the board.
ESPN has released their top 100 NBA prospects big board, and Fears was in the mix. He came in at No. 73 overall, which would essentially fall just outside of the NBA Draft based on the number of picks.
Stephen Brooks of 247Sports posted about where Fears landed in these initial draft rankings, suggesting Fears may declare for the NBA Draft but still ultimately return for another season with the Spartans. Brooks noted that Fears could benefit from getting some feedback by entering the NBA Draft but his projection would suggest he's better off staying at Michigan State.
Fears had a breakout season in 2025-26, finishing the season averaging 15.2 points and 9.4 assists per game. He was the most important player on the Spartans' roster and helped lead Michigan State to a second straight Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Fears was selected to multiple All-American teams and was also an All-Big Ten selection this past season.
My assumption and prediction is that Fears will be back in the green-and-white for another season but it's interesting to see how he compares to his peers by NBA Draft analysts. If Fears returns, Michigan State will be a preseason top 10 team, but if he leaves, then that would severely shake up the outlook for the Spartans next season.

Jeremy Fears Jr. ranked No. 73 overall here. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he declares for the draft to get some feedback with the intent of coming back to college next season. https://t.co/i6EDnFJd6W
