The WWE Universe can be one of the hardest fanbases in the world to please but Eric Bischoff is backing WWE to turn the corner soon.
For months now, the WWE – or the ‘IWC’ as many refer to the online wrestling community as – have been critical of the creative direction of the company under Triple H’s guidance.
After hitting home run after home run for years, this year’s WrestleMania definitely felt a touch disappointing both in terms of build and end result.
Still, things can change quickly in sports entertainment and former WCW supremo Eric Bischoff is backing WWE to get things right.

Eric Bischoff backs WWE creative after recent fan criticism
Bischoff certainly knows a thing or two about booking. He is responsible for the biggest uptick in WCW history when he developed the NWO story, while he’s also had some stinkers along the way as well.
However, while he believes WWE have slowed down of late, he feels things will soon get kicking again.
“WWE’s kind of stepped on a rake here for the last three or four months, creatively speaking, for whatever reason, and there are probably good reasons behind some of the stuff — injuries, forcing changes, things like that. That’s part of life. But nonetheless, they’ve been stepping on rakes. So, they kind of slowed down their creative momentum going into this year’s WrestleMania,” Bischoff told Complex on a recent podcast.
“But, prior to that, for about 12 to 18 months prior to that, there was some good stuff coming out of WWE. So, they have the ability to do it. We’ve seen it. Those same people are still there. They didn’t like get stupid overnight. They didn’t lose their skills, you know, because they went on vacation.
“Still the same people. Still the same talent. They just need to kind of get realigned. And I’m sure that they will.”
With Bischoff commenting here, WWE does need some of its main storylines to kick on now. Thankfully, it does seem things are going in the right direction.
Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar’s rivalry is money, while the return of the Bloodline and the potential that has with Roman Reigns leading the charge again is also easy to buy into.
Add in Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker and an ever-improving female division with the likes of Jacy Jayne and Sol Ruca, and the build to SummerSlam should be a good one with plenty of payoff.
