British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has been forced to withdrawal from her home Grand Slam tournament. This weekend, Raducanu confirmed raising concerns that she would be forced out of Wimbledon.

The British No. 1 was preparing for her first-round match against Antonia Ruzic on Court No. 1 on Monday, when she cut her training session short 10 minutes early.

Raducanu then took to social media to confirm her worst fear, she has been forced to withdrawal due to a stress fracture. It is the latest injury setback for the 23-year-old, who has struggled with injuries since her improbably run to win the 2021 U.S. Open as a qualifier.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but sadly I’ve had to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon,” Raducanu wrote on Instagram Stories.

She continued, “I’ve done everything possible to try to get to the start line tomorrow but after a final scan tonight, the ****** I’ve been managing has developed into a stress fracture and I’ve been medically advised to stop pushing through. Playing at Wimbledon, in front of a home crowd, means everything to me, so this is really difficult to process.

“I want to thank you all for the support and encouragement. Especially at a time like this. It is invaluable. I look forward to seeing you when I’m back.”

Last year, Raducanu reached the third round of the tournament before falling to World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Now, she’ll be focused on her latest road back to the court after healing from her injury.

The 2026 Wimbledon Championships will run from Monday, June 29 through Sunday, July 12, at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. The women’s final will be held on Saturday, July 11, on center court.
