Emeka Egbuka recently reflected on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive struggles during stretches of the 2025 season, admitting the unit “fell into a little bit of a lull” late in the year.

Speaking on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, Egbuka pointed toward the transition into a new offensive system as part of the challenge, while also acknowledging that injuries impacted the offense throughout the season.

Rather than placing blame on a single issue, Egbuka described the struggles as affecting the entire offense. Tampa Bay dealt with changes at offensive coordinator while also asking younger players to handle increased responsibilities due to injuries in the receiver room.

That context is important as the Buccaneers enter 2026, as they now return with more continuity in the offense than they had a year ago. Younger receivers like Egbuka and Jalen McMillan also enter the season with significantly more experience than they had during portions of 2025.

The overall message from Egbuka sounded less like frustration and more like confidence that the offense now has a better understanding of how to put everything together moving forward.
