The FSU Seminoles will have an abundance of prospects in Tallahassee soon, as their Legacy Weekend is set to commence on Friday. However, it won't just be recruits that they have targeted.

Florida State will have a very important guest on campus. It is their second-highest-ranked commitment of the 2027 class in four-star linebacker Gregory Batson.

"I will be back in Tallahassee this weekend!!," Batson wrote on social media.

FSU offered Batson in January of 2025. After attending their Junior Day last March and several unofficial visits during last season, Batson committed to the Seminoles last November. He was also on campus in January for a Junior Day event.

Schools are working to take Batson from Florida State. Mississippi State has been noted as a school that's trying to flip his commitment from FSU. ACC rival Georgia Tech is trying to do the same as well.

New linebackers coach Ernie Sims needs to do everything he can to keep a prime prospect like Batson committed, especially with Florida State's struggles in recruiting the position.

Batson is the No. 398 overall player nationally and the No. 32 linebacker according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He's also the No. 43 prospect from the state of Georgia.

In addition to Batson, 2027 four-star safety commit Mekhi Williams will be in attendance for FSU's Legacy Weekend.
