The state of Georgia has always been prime recruiting ground for Florida State. One of the top prospects from the Peach State in the 2028 cycle, four-star safety Giovanni Tuggle, has become a key target for FSU.
Last August, the Seminoles extended a scholarship offer to Tuggle. This year, he's visited Florida State twice. He was in Tallahassee in March for an unofficial visit, and he returned last month to attend a camp. That time around the program has had a huge impact on Tuggle to the point that FSU has been named one of his top five schools along with the Clemson Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee Volunteers, and Alabama Crimson Tide.
He recently took the time to break down each of his top suitors. When discussing Florida State, Tuggle made it clear that he could see himself in the garnet and gold.
"The first time I went to Florida, the coaches were all waiting on me outside when I got there. All the coaches had the same energy. The whole team has the same energy. At the practice, everyone had energy. I feel like that fits me well. I feel like me and Coach Coop [Evan Cooper], our relationship just keeps getting stronger each day. I just feel like that's a good spot for me," Tuggle told Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports.
Tuggle is listed as the No. 55 overall recruit and the No. 3 safety per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Georgia, he's ranked as the No. 8 prospect.
The 6-foot, 175-pounder has been an extremely productive player during his first two years of high school. He racked up 39 tackles, six interceptions, two pass breakups, and a blocked field goal as a freshman at Winder-Barrow High School.
As a sophomore, Tuggle put up 74 tackles, two tackles for loss, four interceptions, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
With multiple visits and a bond established, FSU needs to work to get Tuggle on campus during the season and try to get early lead in his recruitment.
