The Florida State Seminoles have their eyes on 2028 four-star quarterback Chandler Dyson out of Warner Robins, Georgia. Last Monday, they made a scholarship to him, and he was on campus over the weekend for their Seminole Showcase.
Dyson also attended a quarterback camp last year in Tallahassee, and he'd already established a relationship with quarterbacks coach Austin Tucker before returning to Tallahassee. He spoke about his bond with Tucker after spending more time with him.
“It’s going well. I really like him as a person,” Dyson told Warchant. “A great man, a great dad, great coach. Being coached by him today was a pleasure. He taught me some different things — to be patient with my feet, but be very urgent and just trust in me.”
Dyson is listed as the No. 153 overall player and the No. 10 quarterback in the Rivals industry rankings. He also ranks as the No. 21 prospect in the state of Georgia.
The 6-foot-3, 230 has already established the top five schools in his recruitment. He named the Ole Miss Rebels, LSU Tigers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, North Carolina Tar Heels, and FSU.
“Right now, FSU is low-key in my top five,” Dyson said.
Dyson performed very well as a sophomore. He completed 61.8% of his passes for 2,138 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also ran for 536 yards on 60 carries and added four more scores. For his efforts, Chandler earned Region 1-AAAA First-Team honors.
The plan for Dyson is to attend a game in Tallahassee during the season.
