El Aynaoui after Morocco’s success: “I’m in touch with Gasp.”
Morocco thrashed Canada 3-0 and is now in the World Cup quarterfinals.
The African national team is building on their exploits from four years ago by finishing fourth, but now their next challenge is Deschamps’s formidable France, who defeated Paraguay last night thanks to a penalty from Mbappé.
The match, scheduled for Thursday, July 9th at 10:00 PM, will eliminate at least one of the three Giallorossi players still in contention.
Morocco’s El Aynaoui and Salah-Eddine (who returned to the capital after a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven) and France’s Koné, will face off to continue their World Cup dream.
After the match against Canada, Rome midfielder Neil El Aynaoui gave some comments to reporters in the post-match: “Canada started the match very well, we less so. In the second half, we found solutions to be more dangerous. We know there are no easy matches at the World Cup, but Canada showed great intensity in the first half and surprised us a bit.”
“Am I in touch with Gasperini? Yes. I’m in touch with the staff, we keep in touch by text message.”
