Bayern Munich made its interest in Eintracht Frankfurt and Germany left-back Nathaniel Brown known, so both clubs haggled and haggled until the difference in valuation stood at €10 million. Now, it’s gotten closer to completion to the point where Frankfurt’s sporting director has already told Brown that he’ll be a Bayern player as soon as the two clubs meet in the middle:

Nathaniel Brown is on the verge of joining FC Bayern. [Markus] Krösche [the sporting director] has agreed with Brown that he will be released as soon as Bayern pays a transfer fee of €65 million. The current offer stands at €50 million plus €10 million in bonuses. The difference is now just €5 million.

Nothing much can be done with the seemingly steep transfer fee as the market has been dysregulated since Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain and various Premier League clubs overpaying for average players. We can only hope that Brown is the answer to Bayern’s left-back problem with Alphonso Davies in limbo as it stands.
