ECU Pirates quarterback Katin Houser plans to enter the Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. This will be his second time transferring.

Houser spent the first two seasons of his college career at Michigan State. There, he would take a redshirt in 2022. He would transfer to ECU ahead of the 2024 season. There, he would quickly become one of the top quarterbacks at the Group of Five level.

Coming out of high school at St. John Bosco in California, Houser was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022. He had been the 210th-ranked player nationally and the 13th-ranked quarterback in that recruiting cycle. He had been an an Elite 11 Finals participant and flipped his commitment from Boise State to the Spartans in June 2021.

In 2025, Houser played 12 games as the starting quarterback at ECU. He had a completion percentage of 65.9 percent for 3,300 yards and 19 touchdowns. That was against six interceptions. On the ground, he had 181 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. That includes sack yardage.
