There have been two big trades in the NFL on June 1, with both potentially having a big impact on the Arizona Cardinals.

In the first, the Los Angeles Ramsacquired elite pass rusher Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, a move that is already giving Cardinals fans (and likely Cardinals quarterbacks) nightmares.

The second big trade of the day, however, was much better news for Arizona and its fans.

The New England Patriotsacquired wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, leaving a potential big hole in Philly's receiving corps.

Brown had 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns last season. In four seasons in Philadelphia, he had 339 receptions for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns.

The Cardinals don't play the Patriots this season. They are scheduled to play the Brown-less Eagles on Dec. 6 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.

Brown has 11 catches for 134 yards and a touchdown in his three career games against Arizona, but he won't add to that total in 2026.

Yes, the Cardinals will likely be a huge underdog in that game against the Eagles (DraftKings Sportsbook currently has Arizona +8.5 on the point spread), but the trade feels like good news for Arizona and its secondary, especially after the Myles Garrett news earlier in the day.

Can you imagine how Cardinals fans would feel right now if Brown had been traded to the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers or even the Rams?

Arizona is favored to have the fewest wins of any NFL team in 2026, so Cardinals fans will take any potential good news they can get. And Brown not in the NFC West and not on the Cardinals' 2026 schedule is at least mildly good news.

Especially with Garrett now set to potentially terrorize Cardinals quarterbacks for years to come with the Rams.

Why do the Cardinals have to share a division with the Rams, and the Diamondbacks have to deal with the Dodgers.

Arizona sports never catches a break.

I feel so horrible for the Arizona Cardinals fanbase man. All of these acquisitions and talent the rest of the division is making and they’re stuck in rebuild mode for the next couple of years too with legitimately no hope at all

The Rams are trading for Myles Garrett.

Meanwhile in Arizona, the Cardinals are in a contract dispute with Jacoby Brissett.

Cardinals about to go 0-7 somehow in the NFC West

Out of respect, let’s have a moment of silence for the Arizona Cardinals in that NFC West division ️
