There were two trades in the NFL on Monday impact the Arizona Cardinals, although they were not involved. The first was the move sending Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, whom they will face twice this season.
The second impacts their Week 13 home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In a move that has been expected for months, the Eagles traded receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots for a 2027 fifth-round draft pick and a 2028 first-round pick.
The Cardinals will not face the Patriots, so unless they make the Super Bowl and the Patriots, too, they will not face Brown.
In 15 games last season, he had 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. He led the team in catches.
The Eagles have revamped their receiver room in the offseason. They traded for Dontayvion Wicks, signed Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore, and they drafted Makai Lemon. While they do not have one singular receiver of the caliber of Brown, they have more options.
Brown has played the Cardinals three times in his career. In those three games, he caught 11 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. He had four receptions for 53 yards in 2023, the last time he played against the Cardinals.
