The Philadelphia Eagles never want to sit on their laurels following an important draft like the one they just had last week.
Philadelphia made plenty of shrewd deals and draft selections over the week to not only keep the contending Eagles intact, but to also try and bring in young talent who could also make an immediate impact on the roster.
Part of that, though, is locking up players to their rookie contracts. The good news for the Eagles is the fact that most of them have already been signed.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Friday afternoon that the Eagles had agreed to terms with QB Kyle McCord, OT Myles Hinton, OLB Antwuan Powell-Ryland, and linebacker Smael Mondon. These contracts are not major hurdles, but it does highlight how quickly the Eagles can move.
And it provides them flexibility to do what they need to do in every post-draft meeting - even if it means giving the 2025 rookie class new numbers.
The full list is here:
19 - Kyle McCord
30 – Jihaad Campbell
24 – Drew Makuba
95 – Ty Robinson
22 – Mac McWilliams
42 – Smael Mondon, Jr.
66 – Drew Kendall
78 – Myles Hinton
73 – Cameron Williams
93 – Antwuan Powell-Ryland
Philadelphia's 10 draft picks are a major gamble at this point. They don't have 10 roster spots open at this time. It shows how dominant the Eagles roster is even after their victory in Super Bowl LIX.
And the fact they got many of their rookies to sign new deals shows the team is willing to give them all at least a chance to make an impact moving forward.
