Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Nolan Smith was charged with speeding and reckless driving in Georgia, according to multiple reports.

ESPN's Tim McManus confirmed with the Twiggs County Sheriff's Office that Smith was arrested and charged on May 15.

ESPN reported that Smith was recorded traveling 135 mph in a 70 mph zone on an interstate in the county at 10:41 that night, according to notes taken by a member of the sheriff's office.

Smith posted bond and was released shortly after the arrest, the sheriff's office said. A future court date for Smith has been issued.

The arrest was first reported by the Georgia Gazette, which appears to be a mugshot database.

The Savannah, Georgia, native was selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft after playing fours seasons at the University of Georgia.

In April, the Eagles picked up Smith's fifth-year option that will keep him in Philadelphia through the 2027 season. The deal is worth about $13.75 million.
