Detroit— The list of teams Dylan Larkin is agreeable to be dealt to is expanding.

Larkin, the Wings' embattled captain who asked to be traded last week, initially gave the Wings a three-team list he would waive his no-trade clause in an effort to expedite a deal.

But that list has now been lengthened according to Pierre LeBrun, The Athletic hockey columnist and confirmed by The Detroit News by an NHL source familiar with the negotiations as general manager Steve Yzerman and Pat Brisson, Yzerman's agent, attempt to coordinate a trade that satisfies both sides.

LeBrun also brought up the possibility of a third team helping finalize a Larkin trade, which has always been an option.

Teams such as Florida, Minnesota, Dallas, Tampa, Vegas, Utah, Anaheim and Los Angeles are teams that could by on Larkin's list, as more teams express interest in acquiring the consistent 30-goal scorer.

Larkin, who'll turn 30 in July, has five years left on an eight-year contract worth $69.6 million, an annual salary cap hit of $8.7 million. He starred for the gold-medal winning Team USA at the Winter Olympics (and last year the 4-Nations Tournament) and has evolved into one of the best two-way centers in the NHL.

Larkin shocked the hockey world last week when news of his trade request leaked. The Waterford native, who starred collegiately at Michigan, spoke after the season about his desire to finally get the Wings into the playoffs, after yet again missing this past season.

But with the Wings having missed the playoffs 10 consecutive seasons, and Larkin around for all of them, and a fraying relationship over Yzerman over the past several years, Larkin's trade request became a bit more understandable.

The list of teams calling Yzerman, ultimately, will be long. A key question to all the trade talk is Yzerman's exact intentions.

Yzerman doesn't have to trade Larkin until the Wings receive a trade proposal they feel is fair and can help the team going forward. There is no timeline to get a deal done. The NHL Entry Draft is June 26-27, a weekend where trades are often discussed and completed.

Certainly something could be completed in the next several weeks, but it wouldn't be shocking to see Yzerman let the situation linger and let more of a frenzy develop, possibly into training camp or the start of the regular season.

That would be difficult for Larkin, who would face the prospect of reporting to training camp in mid-September, and games at Little Caesars Arena with an angry Wings' fan base — not to mention possibly disillusioned teammates.

Larkin's situation is, as expected, taking up most of the oxygen surrounding Wings' news heading into the Entry Draft. But the Wings are reportedly also gauging interest in goaltender Sebastian Cossa.

Cossa, 23, a former first-round draft pick, is out of minor-league options when next season begins. (Cossa either makes the NHL or needs to clear waivers to return to Grand Rapids).

With the Wings' goaltending depth in Grand Rapids (Trey Augustine, Michael Postava), and after Cossa's late season fade with the Griffins, the Wings appear willing to trade Cossa to recoup assets.
