The San Antonio Spurs are coming off an outstanding season that saw them reach the NBA Finals for the first time in a decade. Rookie standout Dylan Harper emerged as one of the team's biggest contributors throughout that impressive postseason run, although San Antonio ultimately came up short in its quest for the championship.

During a recent interview, Harper was asked to identify the toughest player he had to defend this season. The Spurs rookie didn't need much time to think before giving his response, immediately naming Oklahoma City Thunder stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams as the most challenging matchup he faced.

“SGA and JDub. We beat them, but… damn… them two kinda hard,” Harper said.

Harper and the Spurs punched their ticket to the NBA Finals after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in a hard-fought seven-game Western Conference Finals series. Although San Antonio had enjoyed success against the Thunder during the regular season, the conference finals proved to be a far more demanding challenge. The series went the distance before the Spurs secured a 4-3 victory.

Coming off an MVP-winning regular season, Gilgeous-Alexander showcased why he is regarded as one of the league's elite scorers. Williams complemented him perfectly as Oklahoma City's second star.. Even while dealing with injuries late in the series, Williams continued to make his presence felt, particularly with his rebounding and all-around impact.

Throughout the seven-game battle against the Thunder, Harper also played an important role in San Antonio's rotation. However, despite overcoming Oklahoma City to reach the Finals, the Spurs were unable to finish the job, ultimately falling to the New York Knicks in the championship series.
