Former Duke alum Aidan Weaver was recently selected in the 2026 MLB Draft, landing with the Athletics in the eighth round (No. 231 overall). Weaver spent all four of his collegiate seasons at Duke, finishing his time in Durham with a 10-13 record, a 6.43 ERA and 144 strikeouts.
While Weaver will have an uphill battle to reach the show, his fastball certainly plays at a major league level, topping out at 98 miles per hour. Weaver was the only current Duke player selected, but two players who transferred from Duke were selected, those being Kyle Johnson and Macon Winslow.
