WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 29: Dame Sarr #7 of the Duke Blue Devils shoots the ball against the UConn Huskies in the Elite Eight of the 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Capital One Arena on March 29, 2026 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images) | Getty Images
Duke and UConn had an epic Elite Eight matchup in March that UConn won on a brilliant last-second shot by Braylon Mullin.
Duke was playing with two starters coming off the bench due to foot injuries, and Cameron Boozer playing with a fractured orbital socket.
But the Huskies showed a lot of heart and earned the victory.
During the Mike Krzyzewski era, Coach K frequently tried to schedule teams that Duke had lost to recently, and it looks like Jon Scheyer may continue it, as Duke and UConn will apparently square off the night before Thanksgiving.
Kudos to both coaches for getting this done. It should be a great game, again.
