Although it came a bit later than expected, Isaiah Evans, a former Duke Blue Devil for two seasons saw his NBA dreams come true Wednesday night, being selected No. 33 overall by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Although Evans made just three starts for Duke during his freshman season, the Fayetteville, NC., native came on strong in his sophomore campaign, averaging 15 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.7 blocks. He also shot an impressive 36.1% from 3-point range, leading Duke in 3-pointers made during the 2025-26 season.
For that reason, Evans was viewed as one of the stronger shooting prospects in the draft, especially toward the end of the first round. Now with the Nets for the 2026-27 season, Evans will need to prove himself worthy of extra minutes in Nets' rotation.
