When she returned to her old stomping grounds on Tuesday night, Angel Reese had a point to prove to the Chicago Sky.

Reese and the Atlanta Dream were made to work for it, but they ultimately held off the determined Sky in an intense WNBA Commissioner's Cup game at Wintrust Arena. Reese recorded a 17-point, 17-rebound double-double and overcame six turnovers as the Dream pulled out an 82-75 victory.

The double-double marked the 57th of Reese's brief 75-game career. It pulled her into a tie with former NBA All-Star Blake Griffin for the second-most double-doubles by any player -- NBA or WNBA -- over the past 40 years.

Angel Reese's 57th double-double is the most through 75 games in WNBA history‼️

MORE: Why Angel Reese was traded from Sky to Dream

Reese has ripped off five successive double-doubles, and the Dream are 7-1 this season when she grabs at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in the same game.

Even at this early stage of the season, Reese is on track to again lead the WNBA in rebounding. The two-time All-Star leads the league with 12.2 rebounds per game and 134 total boards.

The Dream are 8-3 and have the look of a genuine title threat. Adding the history-making Reese to one of the league's most talented rosters will do that.
