New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is having quite the year.
From placing second in the NFL's MVP voting to leading the Patriots to the Super Bowl, the third-year quarterback has put the team back on the map much faster than expected. He recently made a surprise call and appearance on the jumbotron in one of Billboard Music Award-winner Noah Kahan's four Fenway Park shows on Tuesday night.
The hilarious exchange between Maye and Kahan was shared on the Patriots' social media channels.
“Hello? Drake? I thought you got canceled or Kendrick beat you or something, right? Why are you calling me? Well, I appreciate you coming to the show, I guess,” Kahan quipped.
“Wrong Drake, brother," Maye replied. “I just wanted to welcome you to Boston, say what’s up. I know Fenway is rocking right now. I’m here in the crowd. You’re the man. Go Pats.”
There is certainly no confusion in the New England area about who the most popular Drake is. Kahan, a Vermont native, could probably attest to that as well.
It was a surreal moment seeing those two worlds come together.
