I know lots of people are still big believers in BPA. I guarantee you few GMs are. Most now believe you group your biggest needs and select a player who fits one of them; not necessarily the biggest need. Of course the later you go in the draft, the more BPA makes sense. No teams is selecting a BPA RB early if they have two excellent ones(injuries make it questionable where the Cards stand).

Dane Bruglar of The Athletic is a long time, talent evaluator. He’s good at judging transferable skills. That is players who are NFL capable. He says in his latest mock that the Cards take an Edge in Round 1. Of course that’s without knowing the QB situation. Nonetheless I don’t see Edge as a major need. First I think when Nolen plays, the pocket gets collapsed more often, even if they double team him. I have maintained the Cards should be playing Burch over Browning. Burch is the future, Browning is the past. He is good at using his speed to get pressures, but can’t finish the job. With Robinson improving, Sweat playing great and Nolen pressing the middle, I think they have the talent in house to distract QBs. Sure a major injury messes that up, but that’s true of almost any group. I’d love to see them pay Campbell enough so that he couldn’t turn down a contract.

The Cards have massive offensive needs. The early rounds of this draft have to be on that side of the ball. Free agency should focus there as well, dependent on who is available and their cost. Another Edge is a luxury they can’t afford.

Drafting an edge early is never a bad move, but boy do they need another OT BADLY.

Strong disagreement. Outside of Sweat, none of the current group of EDGE players has shown the ability to consistently rush the passer. You don't pass on a player you like for a lesser player when a need like that is present.

Obviously there is a long way to go before we get to the draft, but as of now, players at DL, EDGE, OT, and QB should all be on the table. There is an argument for WR but I'm not quite on board with that yet.

coaching staff matters here

Drew cant figure out how to make the most of the three solid pass catchers he already has...
I tend to think the OC will be different in 2026. Maybe that is wrong. I think the time of three high volume pass catchers is kinda over for now. This is why I struggle with the idea of a WR UNLESS the idea is to let Wilson walk after 2026 and take the comp pick.

If Petz is still here in '26, then Gannon could care less about his HC career.

What about a non-high volume speed wide receiver? Neither MHJ, Wilson, or Dortch are speedsters.

They need to let Ojulari play to see what he can do after the injuries. We do need to draft or get a FA right tackle and a guard. Hopefully Adams take over a starting spot.
But id take Jordan Tyson or Tate. We need another dynamic WR.

If the Cards aren't terrible enough or their strength of schedule holds them from getting a top 2, maaaybe top 3 QB, I want them to trade down again.

Go ahead, roast me.

I hate trading back - for us it says we're not good enough to make this pick at this time - and it's absolutely why we should trade back once the qbs are gone

The Jets are the biggest competition for a trade up if you accept there are 3 top QBs. I guess you’d say the Vikes & Fish(really a mammal) are the next most likely candidates, but they’d have to overpay. If Cards slide up and pass the Jets they have the edge on the field moving up to top 3 picks. As to someone taking the Cards’ pick if they don’t move up, a team that wants Love would have to move. If you need a home run back he stands alone. Also maybe someone for Downs who’s way above the other Safeties, though that would be high.
