Here's my suggestion.

Hold the contest here - on a special "Draft Contest" thread.

- One entry per person.

- No new posts accepted after 5 pm draft afternoon. (Mod - Can you control this)? But you can revise your picks right up to the 5 pm deadline.

- Results could be both posted here (on a "Contest Results" thread) and on the BRS. (Given enough time, I'll be happy to post the projected 32 1st round picks and 8 projected Cardinal picks for each participant on special pages on the BRS and then compile the results). But anyone else with time on their hands could also do their own compiling of results.

- No prizes other than bragging rights (& right to add "Winner of ASFN 2011 Draft Contest" as part of your personal ASFN signature).

- As in years past, there would be awards for:

A. Most direct hits (player to team) in Round One.

B. Most direct hits (player to slot) in Round One.

C. Highest number of players correctly projected to go in Round One.

D. Highest number of players correctly projected for the Cardinals (draft only)

E. "The AJ Jefferson Rule" - Highest number of players correctly projected for the Cardinals (both as draft picks and UDFA's).

The beauty in structuring the contest in this way is (a) everybody gets to see everyone else's entries and (b) if I get busy and can't post official results within a reasonable time period - anyone else who wants to can easily do it.

That's all I got.

Jeff, sounds good with one exception. There can be no UDFA's until there is a CBA. At least that is my understanding.

Good point - If UDFA's can't be signed immediately after draft day, then that category will be eliminated from the contest. (To extend it til UDFA's were eventually signed would be unwieldy).

Should we not have one contest thread for the full first round and another for the Cardinals picks in all the rounds, as we did last year?

What are some good ranking sites? And I don't mean just top 32 player lists, but top 100, 200, 300 and so on sites.

Can one of the moderators set this up? the draft is only a week away. I think it was pretty well run last year (IIRC it was moderated by MadCardDisease) so a similar format could work.

I think I ran it last year. Let me find what I did last year and try and recreate that. Sorry I've been really busy at work and the lockout has put somewhat of a damper on th off season.

The lockout has taken the edge and fun out of the whole offseason but its fantastic to see you set it back up, much appreciated.

I noticed that the point scoring system only awards points for a player taken at the predicted draft spot (plus or minus 2). Shouldn't there be points awarded for predicting the correct team. Example... Someone predicts Houston takes Amukumara at 11 and Houston trades up 3 spots and takes him at 8. They would get zero points in that scenario even thought they correctly predicted the selection.

Maybe 3 points for correct team?

Last year seemed to work pretty well so we will be keeping it the same. One less variable we have to worry about.
