Miami Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was ruled out with a calf injury for the NFL Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Hard Rock Stadium.
Fitzpatrick is in his eighth NFL season. He returned to Miami, the team that made him a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft, after six seasons with the Steelers.
Fitzpatrick played for the Steelers when he had a pick-6 of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on Cincinnati's first series in a 2022 season-opening loss to Pittsburgh.
Fitzpatrick also drew two penalties for unnecessary roughness, for hits to the head of a defenseless receiver. Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase gave Fitzpatrick a double bird, a gesture former Bengals receiver Chad Johnson - aka Ochocinco - said represented the rivalry. Chase was fined, but Fitzpatrick was not.
Fitzpatrick missed a Week 16 game against the Bengals in 2023 in Pittsburgh.
