Dolphins predicted to sign Ravens free agent to to fill major gap originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Pretty much every Miami Dolphins free agent prediction this offseason seems to lead to quarterback Malik Willis.
And while the Dolphins really may sign the Packers free agent QB, it's nice to see an analyst go in a different direction.
ESPN's Aaron Schatz released a new article on Friday that lines up one free agent with each team in the NFL. For the Dolphins, he's given them Isaiah Likely.
Likely is a free agent tight end formerly of the Baltimore Ravens, and he'd fill a huge gap in the Dolphins' current roster construction.
"The Dolphins' top three tight ends from last season are all free agents (Greg Dulcich, Darren Waller and Julian Hill), and they could use an upgrade at the position anyway," Schatz writes. "Waller had six touchdowns in his return from retirement, but he played only nine games due to hip and pectoral injuries."

Likely never really got a full chance in Baltimore because of the presence of Mark Andrews.
Midway through last season, the Ravens gave Andrews an extension, too, which likely signaled they don't intend to bring Likely back.
"Enter Likely, who is ready to start as a No. 1 tight end after spending a few years as TE2 behind Mark Andrews in Baltimore," Schatz writes. "Last season was a bit of an off year for Likely, who had only one touchdown and dropped to 19th among tight ends in the ESPN receiver scores. But he ranked sixth in 2023 and third in 2024, with 400 yards in each of those seasons. He should be able to shine in a Miami offense that doesn't need to feed a lot of other receivers after it released Tyreek Hill and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine."
Does anyone know who will play quarterback for the Dolphins in 2026? Nope.
But that doesn't mean Miami can skip out on improving its offense in general. Whoever ends up at QB would certainly appreciate having an athletic, reliable tight end like Likely to throw to.
