The Miami Dolphins continue to shuffle their roster in an attempt to field the best team possible for the 2026 NFL season. In addition to signing standout UFL safety Major Burns earlier on Monday, the organization also released lineman Kion Smith and waived/injured tackle Carter Warren.

Kion Smith spent the last five seasons in Miami after going undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent his first offseason with the Atlanta Falcons before being cut ahead of the 2021 season. He joined the Dolphins’ practice squad on September 6th, 2021. During his time with the club, Smith appeared in 23 games — starting two at right guard.

Warren was a fourth round selection of the New York Jets in the 2023 NFL Draft. He was released by New York prior to the 2025 NFL season, but was signed to the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad just two days later. On January 9th, 2026, Warren signed a reserved/futures deal with Miami.

We will continue to keep you updated on all things Miami Dolphins as the team continues to navigate their latest rebuild under the watchful eyes of new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and new head coach Jeff Hafley.
