I don't know how to, but can anyone tell me how to or pull some stats themselves on how many QB's drafted AFTER the first round have made the playoffs compared to how many DE's drafted AFTER the first round have made the playoffs. Lets see over the past 10 years which is higher. I'm willing to bet that More QB's drafted in the 2nd+ rounds have made the probowl than DE's drafted in the 2nd+ rounds. Exactly why we should skip on a QB in the first round this year. Statisticaly, we have a better chance of getting a pro-bowl QB later in the draft than we do a DE, if my theory holds true.

I think your theory is correct. Of the top 20 DEs in the league, only Jason Taylor wasn't drafted in the 1st.

Stats like that would be interesting to see, but hard to find I imagine. The Article below though made it sound like both the QBs and Defensive line have a large number of flops. Last year I read that the wide reciever position has the most amount of mistakes made when it comes to drafting. It made sense too when I think of Desmond Howard and Peter Warrick at wide receiver. There are a good number of hits and misses at every position I imagine.
