that it is now imperitive to get suggs seeing how we could not get colvin. Even is leftwich is there we still have to get suggs. It seems though that he will end up in chitown. Reports up here are that the pats are trying to trade up to get either andre johnson or charlie rogers. I would deffinately trade down to get another 1st rounder. If we trade down boss bailey would be a great get. The pats are also looking to get rid of tebucky jones. I have heard he is close to getting traded to the saints for their #1. That would mean the pats would have 3 first rounders and would be even more interested in trading two of their picks to move up. I think it would be a great deal, since it looks like suggs will be gone.

If Suggs is gone and Leftwich is there you HAVE to take Leftwich. You just don't pass up on the chance of a Franchise QB. The guy is a gamer, he played half of this past season with an injury yet still produced great numbers. Imagine what he will do with 2 healthy legs.

He'll probably be a minimum of a season away from being able to take over but I can live with that.

I am really beginning to believe he will be there, Chicago signed Stewart, Carolina signed Delhomme(so they likely won't trade up), Dallas will likely go defense so that leaves Leftwich to us.

Suggs would be great but he very likely will be gone.

I'm really starting to waiver on taking Leftwich if available.

I really like him, but his injury problems, combined with our signing of Blake and other holes elsewhere, makes me want to take a defender.

I think if Suggs is gone, you take DT DeWayne Robertson.

A DL of:
LDE: Holliday
LDT: Wendall Bryant
RDT: Robertson
RDE: KVB

That's a pretty good dline.

Krang, I know I'm beating a dead horse, but we won't take a DT at #6. I am guaranteeing it. Yes, it's just my opinion, but I'm backing that 100 percent.

Why are you so sure Stout?

DT is arguably our biggest need. A case could be made for WR also, but that still may be addressed in free agency. I don't see much there to be hopeful about at DT in free agency.

Are you saying we just ignore that need or what????

Suggs is without a doubt my choice if I'm *.M. "SICK OF LOSING" CALL ME CRAZY ...but I'd trade our 1st (6)th overall, a 3rd (or) 4th rounder, & next year's #1 to Cincy for the 1st pick in the 2003 draft. SUGGS BABY!!!! But we get their 2nd rounder next year 2004. ( If that's not enough for them... then hell here's Thomas Jones too!!! I think with Suggs & Holliday we instantly become a Dangerous Defensive team. If the plan works out our #1 in 2004 would be in the high 20's anyway. We'd have 2 in the 2nd round in 2004 though. You have to take chances. Atlanta did trading up to get Michael Vick. I don't think they are second guessing themselves one bit about it either. Last time we had some Balls was in 1998 with SD . But I'm sure that was initiated by the Chargers........I know you guys are thinking who's gonna play wr??? I think we'll resign our own & hopefully pick up a good one later this summer. ALA kennan Mcardell with Tampa ...with the FA we've brought on board, all of a sudden we don't look that bad, matter of fact we look pretty damn good. I'm not the *.M. though. CINCY COULD PROBABLY STILL GET PALMER AT 6, UNLESS PARCELLS JUMPED ALL OVER HIM, ANYWAY WE'D GET OUR MAN. Have we ever had the 1st pick overall???

I feel very strongly that we won't draft Leftwich, or any other QB, at #6. Newman is my second favorite, after Suggs. And I think this is a real possibility if he's there because some people in the Cards office wanted Buchanon last year. I also think that the total lack of overtures to any free agent WR means we are considering WR at #6 as well. I'd rather trade down for almost anything than take a WR at #6.

I am speculating that the cardinals have newman at the top of their board..why?

1. they assume suggs will be gone.
2. They drafted Bryant last year..will probably go tackle in round 1 and 2..rumor a few weeks ago that they did not want kennedy.. a rumor..probably not right..but I think it is possible.
3. We have no punt returner on our roster and we have not brought any in..newman is a punt returner.
4. We did not bring any free agent CB's..granted - we could be OK with hill, starks and barrett..but I thought at a minimum we would get a better backups..

You could say the same about receivers and tackle (not bringing any in for FA visits..and need areas). At tackle..I think they could move wakefield down as a backup if they sign holliday..and holliday would move down to tackle on passing downs (johnson at end?)..so the cards in theory could think we are set at tackle.. I do not..but they may think so..

Glad to see you posting Zeno.

For those of you who don't know Kerry, he was one of the voices of reason on the old AOL Cards corner.

He is now a (canine) border patrol agent stationed in Douglas, AZ. I'd love to recruit him to write articles for us.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not quoting this as fact (I don't mean diddly to the organization except as a fan). It is still just my opinion, but I feel strongly enough about it to make the statement.

I'm not saying they won't address this area of need. DT is arguably the deepest position in the draft. We might go after one later, but I am 100 percent positive we won't draft a DT at the #6 pick in the first round. That's all.

I'm not trying to shove it down your throats as the gospel. I do apologize if I sound like that. I just feel I am not wrong.

I have been reading the boards here for months I just haven't been writing anything and then when I eventually wanted to post a message I was having trouble. Its great to see such a large collection of knowledgable Cardinal fans.

P.S. Skorp--I work for Customs not Border Patrol...close but not quite the same.
