New York Yankees outfielder and reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge said the environment at the World Baseball Classic is more electric than the World Series.
Judge has played in one World Series during his 10-year MLB career, which came against the Dodgers in 2024. The Dodgers convincingly took the series over New York, winning in five games and clinching the series on enemy turf.
The three-time MVP is playing in his first WBC as Team USA’s captain in 2026, and compared the atmospheres from each event.
“It’s been bigger,” Judge said. “The World Series I was in. The crowd here, the crowd we had when we played Mexico. It’s bigger and better than the World Series. The passion these fans have. There’s nothing like it.”
Aaron Judge says the WBC crowds are "bigger & better" than the World Series:

Team USA advanced to the final after beating the Dominican Republic in a closely contested matchup Sunday, returning to the biggest stage in international baseball after losing to Team Japan in the final in 2023.
While the WBC has definitely generated some electric moments this year, ranging from walk-off home runs to unlikely upsets, the World Series isn’t some small event by any means.

What Postseason Moments Were Comparable to the WBC?
The Dodgers have one of the largest followings in MLB, so whenever they’re in the World Series it’s bound to generate some buzz.
2025’s postseason had plenty of memorable moments — especially at Dodger Stadium. From Roki Sasaki’s renaissance and new walkout song “Bailalo Rocky” to milestone games from Shohei Ohtani, LA generated some of the most interesting stories throughout October.
The Dodgers weren’t the only team with fans behind them, though, as the Toronto Blue Jays also had their home stadium rocking throughout the World Series, most notably in the first game and the final game of the Fall Classic.
While playing for your country definitely adds some emotion into the fold, the environments in both the WBC and the World Series are incredible. Team USA’s focus won’t be on the environment, though, as their sights are set on a WBC win for the first time since 2017.
They will face either Venezuela or Italy in the tournaments finale on Tuesday.
